'OMG! Oh My God' is a superhit and is all set to crossed the 60 crore mark at the box office this weekend.
While the film has turned out to be first ever
Bollywood film to find such immense appreciation as well as audience nod
of approval despite a character artist (Paresh Rawal) playing a central
lead, it has also fetched some good acclaim for it's producer Akshay Kumar.
With two blockbusters 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Housefull 2' under his belt already, Akshay Kumar is smiling the widest.
"We knew from the very beginning that it's a word of
mouth film. We had a great amount of confidence in the concept and the
script.
I have to admit though that the pattern which the
film has followed, what with weekdays doing even better than the higher
priced weekend, is a pleasant surprise for us too", Akshay comments on
some terrific word of mouth that 'OMG! Oh My God' has seen.
While the film has received all around critical
acclaim and Akshay's belief in the subject has indeed paid off, there
are some detractors who were out to spoil the party on charges of
blasphemy. Wasn't he hurt?
"Our message in the film is that of God in humanity.
In today's world we are out to please God in every way while forgetting
the very basis of humanity.
The idea was to make the message reach the audience
and the film's verdict proves that we have been successful in doing
that", he says with a straight face.
Now Akshay has set his eyes on 'Khiladi 786' which releases all over on 7th December.
