Want to play a negative role: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar wants to explore his dark side.
Actor Akshay Kumar is all geared up for his upcoming movie Special Chabbis, in which he will be seen playing a CID officer. The movie is based on a real-life heist gang of 26 men robbed rich businessmen and industrialists by posing as CBI and income tax officials in the 1980s.

Now, Akshay says that he wants to play an out and out negative role in 2013 and want to explore his dark side.

The actor rose to fame with his Khiladi series - Khiladi (1992), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi (1997), International Khiladi (1999), Khiladi 420 (2000) and, last but not the least, Khiladi 786 in 2012.

Akshay is well known for his action roles and has gained fame and praise in dramatic, romance and comic roles as well. But till date, he has never been cast as an anti-hero, and wants to change that. "I want to do a full fledge negative role, no mercy, no morals, proper action, where I give a tough time to the hero," said the actor.

And which hero does he want to give a tough time to? "Anybody who's ready for it," says not-choosy-at-all Akshay. The actor wants to get out of his comfort zone and try something different. And he hopes that 2013 be lucky for him.

His upcoming film Special Chabbis, directed by Neeraj Pandey, also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill and Kajal Aggarwal and is slated for a February 8 release
