Akshay will do wonders in Oh My God

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar will be seen in Oh My God, a movie based on Gujarati play Kanji Virudhh Kanji. TV celebrity Sachin Parikh, who played the lead originally, feels Akshay will do full justice to the role. “I have seen Akshay right from his first movie. The way he has taken his graph as an actor is amazing. Be it comedy, satire or action, Akshay does them all so convincingly,” Sachin said. “I admire him as an actor. The character which I portrayed will be shown in a different angle and manner. It will be performed differently, so I am sure Akshay would do wonders,” he added.

The play Kanji Virudhh Kanji was remade in Hindi too. Its Hindi version, featuring Paresh Rawal in the lead, is called Krishna vs Kanhaiya.

Sachin, who has performed the original Gujarati play more than 100 times, says he would love to be a part of Oh My God, to be directed by Umesh Shukla.

“I always wanted to be part of the film. I have been 100 times with Kanji Virudhh Kanji and I was really happy to play that role. But television and theatre are both different.

“I didn’t get any good role or opportunity to play. But I would love to be a part of this film,” he added.

Sachin can currently be seen in TV shows like Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha on Colors.
