Akshay Kumar offers to perform free cameo in 'From Sydney With Love'

Akshay Kumar has offered to make a cameo appearance in the debut film of his former martial arts student.

The star has also agreed to launch the music for director Pramod Chakravorty's first release.

"When Akshay was shooting for my granddad's film Deedar, he taught me martial arts. I stopped training and he also got busy with his film career. But I have always been close to him," said the filmmaker.

Chakravorty went on to add: "Akshay supporting me is a huge deal

"Akshay has promised to work with me in my next venture. So after From Sydney With Love, we will look at a suitable script."

Kumar first met the debut director when starring in the 1992 hit Deedar, directed by Chakravorty's grandfather.

The Rowdy Rathore actor trained his protégé in martial arts during breaks in the shooting of the film.

Last year, Kumar launched a three-day karate tournament in Mumbai with other 4,500 competitors.
